Paragon Software have a number of free tools that you can get here to allow you to do all sorts of things with your disks. I’ve recently used their Partition Manager (Free Edition) to resize a partition on one of my systems that the inbuilt Windows 7 disk management could not shrink further. It worked a treat. They also have a downloadable CD that you can boot from to allow you to fix and undelete partitions. I’ve not used it yet, but have added it to my list of things to try.
Note that their tools are free for non commercial use.
