What are the $WINDOWS.~Q and $INPLACE.~TR folders on my machine?

HP MiniNote 2140 SATA vs SSD

I recently moved my 2140 from a 160GB SATA drive over to a 120GB SSD drive. Below you can see the performance of the system with the disk at a rating of 5.4. Following the replacement with the SSD, you can see below the performance has gone up to 7.1 which is pretty darn impressive.  From my perspective it does seem to run faster all round.
