Trend slipped out this update a month back to cater specifically for Windows 10 machines. You can download the Service Pack 2 from here.
I’ve been running the update now without any major issues except for one thing that I found after the upgrade.
Back in May, I blogged here about the upgrades Trend released to enhance protection on Cryptolocker. Once you upgrade to SP2 over the top it appears to DISABLE those enhancements and you need to go back in and enable them on each group.
Below I’ve highlighted the two check boxes that you need to re-enable after the upgrade in red. Make sure you review your configuration after the upgrade to ensure you have protection enabled as you desire.
The new option that was not available previously is the autobackup of files changed by suspicious programs. This appears to be limited to 100MB based on the information at hand. As yet I’m waiting clarification from Trend on where it backsup the files and how we go about restoring them in the event a crypto virus hits our system. Fortunately I’ve not had any systems hit recently which is great.
We installed SP2 on one customer’s site and lost connections to all clients. After working for 10 hours with TM support, they decided to install SP1 and NOT SP2 to avoid these problems. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem.
