Stephen West, Trend Micro Australia, Small Business Manager for ANZ has let me know that he’s moving on to other challenges and will be leaving Trend at the end of 2009. He’s been one of the moving forces behind Trends deep penetration into the SMB market here in Australia and I’m sure will be sorely missed by Trend Australia. Dave Patniak – Trend Micro Australia’s Managing Director said that they “will make an announcement before the end of the year as to Stephens replacement”. Fingers crossed it is someone who really understands the needs of us SMB IT Professionals and can continue on the great work that Stephen has done over the years. The good news is though that he’s not moving all that far away.
Stephen is moving over to take up a similar role with StorageCraft Asia Pacific. Greg Wyman – the Regional Director for StorageCraft Asia Pacific has gained an extremely experienced person in Stephen. Greg has said that “Stephen will head up the newly created SMB Team here at StorageCraft which is the start of a renewed focus on the SMB channel that has supported us so well over the last few years.”
I’m sure that once we give Stephen a few weeks to settle in that he’ll be back out in the community trying to figure out what makes us tick and how he can help us better increase our business. Stephen was well known for taking our feedback deep within Trend and helping make things better for all SMB IT Professionals in Australia. I know he will be trying to do the same for StorageCraft which is fantastic news for us all.
Congratulations to Stephen and also to StorageCraft for the good hire.
