How good is your Chinese?

One of the things I’ve been impressed with here in Taipei, is the friendly nature of the locals.  Over the last few days, when I’ve been out and about with my map in hand, I’ve had many a time where locals see I might be lost and offer to help me in their best English.  Might be a little hard to understand them at times, but they are so very helpful and proud to be of service.  I’ve not actually seen that in any other country in the world that I’ve visited and it makes you feel both very safe and welcomed at the same time. 

Unfortunately my Chinese is not so good.  I know how to say Hello and Thank you and that’s about it.  Lucky for me there are both Bing and Google translators… so to my friends from Trend, I’ll say 谢谢你的另一个令人惊异的一天。 这儿的食物和人民都是如此令人惊叹。
