In SBS 2000, you need to use the Administrators console to change the password for all users, including the Administrator. Drill down in the console to the Users group, and right click on the user you wish to change the password for. Then choose “Reset Password” and enter the new password and confirm the new password. Check the tick box if you want to force the user to change the password when they logon next.
Unlike SBS 4.5, chaning the password in the console does NOT automatically change the password for any dependant services. To do this you need to drill down further in the Computer Managment section of the Adminstrators console, the Services and Applications, then Services. Look at the column titled “Log On As” to find any dependant services whcih will need to have the password specifically changed in the services properties.
