StorageCraft and VMvault create Temporary Disaster Recovery Centre for flood affected business in Queensland

January 13, 2011 by Wayne Small 6 Comments

StorageCraft world leader in real time recovery technology, today announced a partnership with highly respected virtualisation infrastructure leader VMvault.  The partnership was specifically created to provide immediate help and support for flood affected ShadowProtect customers in Queensland.

The partnership, the first of what StorageCraft hope will be a few, is designed to get the critical business servers running in a virtualised environment fast.  This will allow the customers access to the basics they need to get business back on the rails quickly, things like email and files stored on their servers.  The partnership will see VMVault provide FREE hosted virtual servers for ShadowProtect customers critical servers for the next 6 weeks, time for the business to get back on their feet and procure new hardware.

It’s a fact that many small businesses buy install and configure backup software but never actually plan for the disaster scenario.  StorageCraft and VMvault recognise this and are establishing a temporary Disaster Recovery centre based in Brisbane to help providing not only the hosting arrangements but full support to get things up and running quickly.

StorageCraft and VMVault are busy right now extending their infrastructure to handle the expected load from flood affected business.  This deal would not be possible without the fast actions of management in both companies and a desire to really help out in ways that matter.

Flood victims should contact VMvault on ph 1300 513 262 or email [email protected] to obtain more information on how to move their ShadowProtect server to their DR infrastructure.

Congrats to both companies for trying to make a difference.

18th Jan, 2011 – UPDATE: Since I wrote this post there are a number of additional relief efforts under way… I’m tracking those that I know of here in this blog post.  Please – do whatever you can to help the people involved in these natural disasters.
