SBS2008 Exam 70-653 Passed today.

January 22, 2009 by Wayne Small 4 Comments

Today I finally made time to sit the 70-653 SBS 2008 Exam. They allow 140 minutes for the exam all up I was done in 25 minutes. I got a score of 964 and of the 50 questions, I suspect I got two wrong. Both One question was linked to Mobility options in Exchange 2007 rather than SBS 2008 specific things and the other was in migration (which I didn t think had a 100% correct answer) so I feel pretty good about that. All in all I felt the exam was pretty real world and the training I ve been conducting around Australia will prepare people well for it. The only tips I can give, is to make sure you think SBS when you sit the exam, but do not be unaware of what the normal applications administrative tools can do as well. Play with the SBS console a lot and know the in s and out s of it. Good luck!

You did a little better then I, I particpated in the beta and I was very surprised and my score. I missed three one in messgeing, one in collaboration and one in deploying 936. I two did not take even near half the time alotted.

Again Congradulations. I’m in very good company!

    Congratulations Wayne!

I am interested myself and checked the skills required at

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exams/70-653.aspx

The dot list contains some points I obviously need to brush up on… such as Migration, Maintain SBS CALs, Sharepoint, Messaging (OL anywhere, mobiles). Can you give us some specific pointers where we can learn more about this subjects in a SBS context?

    Thanks
