SBS 2008 Virus Protection Options

November 19, 2008 by Wayne Small 3 Comments

Today Microsoft announced the death of Windows One Care including OneCare for Server which comes as a trial product for SBS 2008. See here for a blog on how it affects SBS 2008.

So what then do you use to protect your SBS 2008 server? Well fortunately TrendMicro release yesterday their Worry-Free Business Security suite for SBS 2008 which also works on EBS 2008. You can download a trial of their here

I ll shortly have my guide to installing Trend WFBS on SBS 2003, SBS 2008 and EBS 2008 available for those that want it.

Isn’t it amazing that Trend has stood behind SBS all these years?

I’d say they are our number one vendor in terms of support, and reaching out and RESPONDING to our community.

Wayne, Now that my Trial of Live One Care for my SBS2008 box has expired What should I do?

I am the only user & I use this box to run my business and to learn on.

The Network is protected by a SonicWALL TZ210 & I am wondering if the Server AV from SonicWALL is the best thing to use

I already have SonicWALL Gateway AV running in the TZ210 & Client AV on my Workstations

    What do you think?
